Kawhia Learning Centre was set up for high school students who are completing studies with The Correspondence School of New Zealand.
This Centre has a roll of six students ranging from Year 10 through to Year 13. There is a registered teacher and a teacher aide, who are always on hand to help. The students attend the Centre Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays are for the Rangatahi to study independently at home.
The subject studies vary from Student to Student. Math, Science, English being the standard subjects but there is also Horticulture, Design and Craft, Home Economics, Legal Studies to name of few of the more diverse subjects that are available for the Rangatahi.
