Kawhia Learning Centre was set up for high school students who are completing studies with Te Kura/The Correspondence School of New Zealand.
This Centre has a roll of six students ranging from Year 10 through to Year 12. There is a registered teacher (Jill Fraser)who is always on hand to help. The students attend the Centre Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays are for the Rangatahi to study independently at home.
The subject studies vary from Student to Student. Math, Science, English being the standard subjects but there is also Horticulture, Design and Craft, Home Economics, Legal Studies to name of few of the more diverse subjects that are available for the Rangatahi.
We are supported by staff at Te Kura who are always available to speak with Students.
